GPS-DS-8

Overview

GPS-DS-8 is a Time and Frequency multi-output signal generator (PPS, 10 MHz). It's formed by two independent GPS receivers individually furnished with high-stability oscillators. The two “hot-plug” modules are in mutual support. In the standard version are presents 8 independent outputs of the frequency reference at 10 MHz and as many of the time reference PPS (pulse per second).
GPS-DS-8 is extremely reliable because both generator modules are completely autonomous, because are furnished within of supply section and amplification of 10 MHz signal and PPS. The switch unit is completely passive and the choice between the two generator modules is realized by means of high-reliability RF relays.
Each of the 8 frequency output (10 MHz) and of the 8 time output (PPS), coming from the two generator modules, it's continually monitored from exchange logic, who select the module that will pass into BNC connectors placed on the back. If breakdown of preferential generator module will occur, as well as a electrical signaling series and SNMP trap's generation, will immediately done the switching on spare generation module.

The switching algorithm is completely user-definable.
Is in fact at user discretion the possibility to set the commutation even if only electrical lack happened at one of the 10 MHz signals and PPS signals, coming from preferential generation module, rather than enter about coherence's of same signal, of this fact that could break the GPS module receiver or rather could be a RF signal breakdown coming from antenna.
GPS-DS-8 is particularly easy to use both for installation and maintenance. All function are completely accessible by PC in local mode, through RS-232 serial communication, and in remote mode through Ethernet network 10/100 with TCP/IP protocol. GPS-DS-8 furnish indications about its working state even through use of 7 dry contact on apparatus back.
GPS-DS-8 is completely SNMP protocol standardized in which are supplied from switch unit all the informations about the electrical state of both modules. GPS-DS-8 is provided of double power unit for the part related at switch unit. Both generation modules are provided of internal power unit really independent from switch unit.
